Craftsmanship

Our rugs are handcrafted in India, where weaving is a skill passed from one generation to the next.

Every Tapioca Atelier piece is made entirely by hand, ensuring individuality and character in each rug.

Our artisans oversee each stage of production: sourcing raw materials, spinning and dyeing yarns, weaving, washing, and finishing.

This hands-on approach ensures quality, longevity, and responsible craftsmanship. It also allows the freedom to experiment with materials, textures, and techniques, whether the project is intimate or large-scale.

No idea is too small, and no vision is too ambitious.

Construction Techniques

Flatweave

A lightweight, pile-free construction known for its refined texture and versatility. Flatweave rugs offer a contemporary, understated aesthetic and are ideal for high-traffic areas.

Handloom

Handwoven on traditional looms, this technique produces elegant rugs with a smooth, sophisticated finish. Handloom rugs are prized for their subtle texture, durability, and modern appeal.

Handknotted

The pinnacle of rug craftsmanship. Each knot is tied individually by skilled artisans, resulting in exceptional durability, intricate detailing, and heirloom-quality pieces that can last for generations.

Indo Nepali

A luxurious hand-knotted technique renowned for its fine craftsmanship and exceptional detail. Often crafted using premium wool, silk, or Tencel, Indo-Nepali rugs offer remarkable softness, depth, and refinement.

Handtufted

A versatile construction method that allows for intricate designs, sculpted textures, and varying pile heights. Hand-tufted rugs combine artisanal craftsmanship with excellent value and design flexibility.
