Meet the Founder & Designer:
Camille Guellec
Tapioca Atelier was founded by French-American textile designer Camille Guellec, whose practice explores the space between art, design, and tactile expression.
With a background in textile design and a fascination for material, texture, and craftsmanship, Camille approaches rug-making as a form of visual experimentation. Her designs begin intuitively, often through drawing and surrealist automatism, allowing unexpected shapes, compositions, and colour relationships to emerge before being translated into textile.
Rather than treating the rug as simply a functional object, Camille sees it as a piece of art that inhabits a space—something to be experienced through both the eye and the body.
Based in Paris, she works closely with artisan partners in India to transform her designs into meticulously handcrafted pieces. This dialogue between contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship is at the heart of Tapioca Atelier.
Each rug is an opportunity to experiment, push boundaries, and turn an instinctive idea into something tangible.
